This Music Journalism course gave me all the information and skills I needed to go out and pitch original ideas, but also confidence in what felt like just a pipe-dream before I started. The assignments were no different to what I have found myself doing now to be printed in magazines. With guidance and useful feedback I completed the course with my own writing style and a lot of great connections. Even just knowing what sort of language to use when contacting editors bridged what felt like a huge gap between me and the “real journalists”.
I am currently freelancing for The Fly, Clash Magazine, Artrocker and Phoenix as well as several online publications in the US and the UK.
